We’ve all been hurt. At some point in our lives we have all had someone do something to us that made us crazy. Made us feel like we wanted to die. Made us feel as if the world could not possibly keep turning. And the majority of us have discovered that it doesn’t matter what kind of hell we’ve been dragged through, kicking and screaming; the world keeps moving. Life goes on.
And here’s where it gets interesting. Many choose to move on. The old expression that time heals all things seems to work for many people. Often people just shove that shit into the deepest darkest recess of their heart and try to pretend there’s not a big black gaping hole sitting there; sucking up any good energy that might come it’s way.
Then there are those who choose to play the victim. The ones who go through life doing nothing but make things worse for themselves by bitching, complaining and generally making everyone around them miserable. These are the people who hold on to the pain. They cuddle with it at night and beg for it to stick around, never knowing that life is so much better than the shit we stick with.
Shit stinks. Throw it out.
These are the people who don’t know how to move on, and the only way they know how to deal is to pull others into the darkness with them. They twist things, they manipulate situations and generally, they aren’t well liked. They are the drama queens of the world.
Then there are those who make a decision. They decide that sitting in a stinking pile of shit isn’t going to help them. They decide that living with a big black gaping hole in their heart is causing life to pass them by. They make a decision to find the help they need from someone who cares enough to see them succeed.
If you’ve been through hell and back and you’re doing nothing about it, eventually it’s going to catch up with you. Eventually your life is going to crumble around you like a poorly built foundation in a major earthquake.
It’s time to pull up your big girl panties, find some help and make your life what it was meant to be. It’s time to take the world by its balls and show it who’s boss.
Life is simply too damn short to go through it thinking it’s terrible. Life is beautiful – if you make it.
